Link Expeditions – A 5-Star Experience
Costa Rica offers the perfect blend of adventure, wildlife, vibrant culture, and breathtaking tropical beauty—but what truly elevates the experience is having the right guide. Alberto Salas, owner of Link Expeditions, exceeded every expectation. His deep knowledge of the country, its rainforests, wildlife, and local cuisine made each day both enriching and unforgettable.
Our itinerary included the La Leona Waterfall Adventure Hike, the Rio Celeste Waterfall Hike & Bijagua Tour, Rio Celeste National Park, a River & Jungle Tubing Experience, and a visit to the Wildlife Sloth Sanctuary. Along the way, we encountered an incredible variety of wildlife—sloths, toucans, monkeys, tapirs, frogs, turtles, and even a pack of wild horses galloping past our van.
Alberto was attentive throughout the trip, making frequent stops so we could use restrooms, stretch, and grab snacks, ensuring everyone stayed comfortable and energized. Traveling as a family of four—including two teenagers and a grandmother—we all had an amazing time and felt fully included in every adventure.
From seamless airport pickup to return, every detail was handled with care. Our week with Link Expeditions was truly unforgettable, and we couldn’t recommend them more highly.

We booked a two hour horseback ride along the beach. It was absolutely fabulous. My fiancé had never been on a horse and it was an amazing first experience. The scenery was stunning and our guide was so nice. We saw all kinds of animals along the way including howler monkeys. Totally recommend Link Expeditions!!!

We went snorkeling for the first time with Alberto at Flamingo and it was a wonderful experience! From the communication and coordination of the activity, to the explanation and instruction on how to snorkel, the exploration of marine life, and the refreshing fruit and water at the end, everything was incredible. Alberto was very kind and welcoming, and we felt very comfortable from beginning to end. We definitely recommend Link Expedition for any activity you want to do in Costa Rica!

We had a great experience! It was just our family of four versus a large group which was nice. Our guide showed and taught us about the fauna during the hike and we found a group of juvenil howler monkeys along the way which was so cool! Our guide was also picking up trash others had left behind along the way. Highly recommend this company for your tour!

You won’t find a better tour guide than Alberto at Link Expeditions so stop looking. Alberto is the friendliest, most knowledgeable, most accommodating tour guide we’ve ever met. Guaranteed good time from this top notch, professional team. Comfortable van, skilled driver, and they took care of everything. Even provided tasty snacks and cool beverages for our family. Our tour took us to a beautiful National Park and thermal baths with stops at an amazing open air restaurant serving the best local fair in a beautiful setting.

Excellent travel advisor. Alberto was always quick to respond and tailored our itinerary in Costa Rica to meet our family’s specific needs. All the tours he booked for us were reasonably priced and his service was excellent. All the guides were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Costa Rica and helped us truly have a rich, educational, fun experience visiting this beautiful place. Alberto went above and beyond to provide information on local restaurants, grocery stores, roads, weather conditions and much more to help us relax and enjoy our trip.

Alberto is like family. This was our second trip to Costa Rica and our second excursion with him. The words in this review will not do him justice. He is an amazing person who spends the whole trip engaged with you. He loves his country and is passionate about sharing it with visitors. He tailor made our excursion this time to make certain we would be doing new things. Tubing down the river was a dream. Our guides only made it better. The waterfall is breathtaking. If you want to do a natural cold plunge then go here. Then we finished by relaxing at hot springs and a mud bath. Lunch on this trip was the best we ever experienced on any vacation. What a day! None of this was possible without Alberto. The pictures he took were unbelievable. He is all about service and making sure you create memories. He is an incredible human being and truly a gift.

We had a great time on a snorkeling excursion! They arranged transportation to and from the beach. Selected great areas with beautiful water and beaches! And even let our youngest catch a fish on the ride back in. Highly recommend!

It was our first time to Costa Rica and Alberto and his team at Link Expeditions were fantastic in helping us on our excursions throughout the country. We gave them a list of places we were going to visit and ideas of things we wanted to do in those areas. They not only came back with prices for those excursions, but they made recommendations for others that many tourists don’t think about and that were better and less expensive. A case in point is that we wanted to do a Nature walk through the cloud forest In Monteverde. They recommended that we do a different nature reserve at a slightly lower elevation because we would be in and walking through the cloud forest during our zip line and hanging bridge excursions the next day. The result was that we were able to see two slightly different ecosystems with varied plant and animal life instead of just one.
They also checked in on us frequently and asked how our excursions were going and asked if we had any additional questions about Costa Rica. They answered and helped guide us through our trip with honest and friendly advice without any pressure to book additional excursions at any point.
I have already recommended Link Expeditions to family and friends that have told me they are planning a trip to Costa Rica and I promised them they would not be disappointed with this family run company’s pricing or the service they receive.

We had an amazing experience! We did the hike to the waterfall, the sloth tour, and the cocoa and coffee experience. Our guide, Adrian, was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and went the extra mile to give us an amazing experience at each stop. We highly recommend this company and these tours!

Alberto and his team are the absolute best - 11/10 recommend! Alberto organized multiple partial and full day private excursions for both our wedding group and honeymoon in Tamarindo and La Fortuna. Every single excursion was excellent - everyone had a blast! Alberto is the most genuinely friendly person, super organized, and has so much passion for his business. If you're looking for awesome, personalized excursions outside of the normal commercialized tours, Link Expeditions is the way!

Alberto was amazing! I was really stressed about my upcoming wedding in Costa Rica and needed a hand planning activities for the rest of my trip! Alberto was recommended by our wedding planner and was very helpful , friendly and easily contactable (we even kept in touch throughout our time in the country). He was very knowledgeable about the tours/trips and provided us with some amazing adventures/guides that were all tailored to our needs! We even experienced a cooking class with a local family (which was very unique and I could not find anywhere else!)

Every excursion that Alberto, owner of Link Expeditions, planned for our group was perfection from pick-up at our hotel to drop off. We were not disappointed. He was a great guide as well. His responses during the planning stages our questions were always answered quickly. We learned so much about Costa Rica and even learned a little Spanish. By the end of our trip and many excursions we felt like Alberto was a part of our family. He truly does care about his clients and was so accommodating with last minute changes. Initially I contacted Alberto for transportation from the airport to our hotel and back. We ended up with one free day and Alberto arranged the perfect Costa Rican experience for us: rain forest/hanging bridges, authentic CR meal, seeing howler monkeys/ sloths/birds/butterflies/colorful frogs and the like, coffee and cacao plantation tours.
Alberto is delightful and so knowledgeable about Costa Rica, the culture, the rain forest, animals, flora/fauna, biodiversity, etc. He went out of his way to ensure our expectations were more than met, all the while keeping in mind our activity level/ability.
I recommend him highly - you will be in good hands!

Alberto was instrumental to our trip to Costa Rica. When I was booking our trip I was overwhelmed by all the tours and adventures operators. I also didnt know which areas to visit since it was our first time there. I had a call with Alberto and told him what we had in mind for activities and experiences and it was like he read my mind. He came back with a detailed plan for each day that was perfect for us.
He checked with me every evenning for next day activities and remainders and to make sure everything was going well.

This excursion was awesome. The hike was more than I imagined but well worth it once we made it to La Leona Waterfalls. It was beautiful. I am so happy I was able to get out and see these beautiful gems in CR. Alberto was the best tour guide and super accommodating. We were together for most of the day and were so grateful we had him showing us the lovely sites. He’s a doll and couldn't have been better. Thank you Alberto. I hope we keep in touch for ever!

I highly recommend Link Expeditions. The founder, Alberto, is an incredible person who is not only kind, but very knowledgeable about Cost Rica. Costa Rica is known for its tourism, but Alberto is able to provide an experience that is difficult to find as a tourist. He truly helps you see Costa Rica, and even some of the most beautiful and off the beaten path parts.

Link Expeditions is an incredible travel service!
Alberto helped me with all my bookings for Monteverde and made great recommendations! During the entire process, Alberto was very responsive to all my questions and helped me get a good understanding of what to expect of each activity in Monteverde. He was able to provide me with an array of options to choose from for my activities (night tours..hanging bridges..guided or unguided), he provided me all the pricing options, was able to arrange transportation, and even book accommodations...everything!
On top of the professional and responsive service, all the recommendations provided were so fun! We had time for a coffee tour in the morning with Santuario Ecologico, and a guided tour with Selvatura through the forest. Both were great!
I highly recommend using Link Expedition for any of your Costa Rica travel needs. They made everything so so easy and clear and really put a lot of care into our travel needs.

Link Expeditions helped me plan my dream vacation to Costa Rica! They were able to customize my whole trip to fit my personality, which I have NEVER experienced with another travel company. I also really appreciated the focus on wellness and nature because I wanted to plan a trip with a lot of surfing and hiking - and Alberto from Link Expeditions made it happen! He organized transport to the best spots, and always had the best recommendations for less touristy destinations. I was traveling solo, and he made it so easy!
