- Personal Insurance: We strongly recommend obtaining comprehensive travel insurance for all international trips and outdoor adventures. Even though the chances of needing it are minimal, it’s best to be fully covered in case of unforeseen events.
- Basic First Aid Supplies: Carry with you basic first aid items to address minor injuries.
- Prescribed Medications: Be sure to bring any essential medications, as access to clinics or hospitals may be limited in remote areas.
- Stay in the Designated Area: For both your safety and to minimize environmental impact, always stay in designated areas.
- Follow Your Guide’s Instructions: Your guide is highly experienced and knowledgeable about the area. Always follow their advice for a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Preserve Natural Beauty: Observe marine life and marine formations but let them remain undisturbed.
- Carry Out Trash: Even biodegradables should be packed out.
- Respect Wildlife: Observe marine life from a safe distance; don’t feed or disturb animals.
- Considerate Behavior: Keep noise levels down and be courteous to fellow explorers.
- Environmental Dynamics and Expectations: The ocean is a wild and ever-changing environment, governed by natural forces that remain beyond human control. While the North Pacific of Costa Rica is a beautiful destination for recreational snorkeling, factors such as water temperature, underwater visibility, wildlife activity, and atmospheric conditions like wind, sun, and rain fluctuate daily. Our Expedition Design Team selects specific bays and times based on the best available data, yet we cannot guarantee specific visibility or wildlife sightings as these elements are part of a living, breathing ecosystem. We invite our Guests to embrace the unpredictability of the natural world as part of the authentic exploration experience.
